Responsibilities include:
- Development and enhancements of Framework and Integration aspects of Open Visa Net
- Managing 5-7 software engineers, including direct staff and vendors
- Management of development functions including business requirements elaboration, systems and process flow analysis, meeting critical milestones and deliverables that are time and scope boxed
- Working with limited direction, usually within a complex environment, to drive delivery of solutions and meet service levels
- Communicate effectively and proactively with all levels of management and articulate ideas and recommendations clearly
- Heavy collaboration across business and technology organization, providing sound business analysis, process and change leadership within a an Agile framework
- Provide leadership and oversight to a team of software engineers building solutions and capabilities at scale and high engineering and quality standards.
- Engagement and collaboration with cross teams, architects and other stakeholders to deliver on a common goal.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand business problems and then design and develop required solutions.
- Drive the adoption of key engineering best practices to improve quality and reliability of teams deliverables.
- Responsible for keeping the team engaged, motivated and operating with a high execution velocity.
- Responsible for Evaluating, coaching and mentoring of direct reports.
- Build a collaborative and conducive environment for the team to deliver the best of their ability
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters Degree, preferably in Computer Science with 10+ years of experience
2+ years of people management experience working in agile software development
Strong software product development background with a passion for building cloud based applications with high levels of reliability, availability and security
Dynamic leader who has directly managed team of highly competent developers in fast paced work environment
Very good understanding of Enterprise Application Lifecycle Management needs.
Significant experience building enterprise class applications using Java/J2EE technologies and/or GoLang stack
Excellent knowledge of core engineering best practices and passion to implement these across teams.
Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally.
Team player and passionate for building a culture of innovation and flawless execution. Technical hands on skills, ideally in multiple technology stacks for backend concurrent engineering, system software development and deployment on diverse platforms.
Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, grow and retain high-caliber talent at scale. Experienced organizing, running, supporting, and growing large technology organization.
Experience in technologies such as NoSQL
Experience with distributed computing, microservices and high volume transaction processing is a big plus
Experience with service orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Nomad etc. is a plus
Strong understanding of architecture patterns and operational characteristics of highly available and scalable applications.
Experience working in fintech software development highly preferred and prior knowledge of Credit Card Industry a plus
