Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Budgeting
- Drive the corporate financial policies and procedures across the plants in the SBU
- Prepare the budget for the SBU/Unit in conjunction with the SBU Head and obtain necessary approvals from Corporate Finance
- Execute annual budgeting process for the SBU/Unit in coordination with the SBU Head and ensure timely submission of the budget to Corporate Finance
- Collate monthly MIS data and ensure timely submission every month, monitor and control the actual spends/ expenses versus budget, identify and report major deviations
- Work in conjunction with Corporate Finance to identify and propose alternative solutions for any deviations to the SBU Head
Capex Management
- Execute Capex planning of the SBU anticipating future needs; monitor and analyze deviations and design and execute necessary corrective action plan
- Review and analyze financial feasibility of complex investment proposals, capital expenditures, and finance projects and provide recommendations to the SBU Head and Corporate Finance for approval highlighting the risks and critical factors involved
- Manage working capital requirements through monitoring and ensuring effective cash flow management and efficient inventory management across the SBU and provide an overview to Corporate Finance
Process Control, Audit, and Statutory Compliance
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance to identify risks and create risk management frameworks specific to the SBU. Ensure implementation of it across within the unit
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to ensure correct internal controls, make financial processes more efficient or effective, and/or reduce cycle time
- Collate data and ensure audits are conducted in a timely manner. Drive course corrective action within the SBU when required
- Ensure all statutory and legal compliances are filed and submitted in a timely manner
Product Price Movement
- Liaise with customers for timely price revision of input material on a quarterly basis
- Ensure timely reconciliation with purchase price movement in conjunction with the purchasing department
- Track savings as per committed ROCE for all Capex/ revenue costs on a monthly basis
Cost Controlling
- Drive direct and indirect cost controlling at the SBU by collating data from various departments
- Identify ways in which costs can be further reduced and provide feedback to the departments on the same
- Provide inputs for product pricing ensuring correct costing figures are taken while finalizing product price
- Analyze profitability, productivity, and costs within the SBU and provide feedback and reports to Corporate Finance
Team Development
- Ensure the team is timely updated on regulatory and statutory changes
- Identify the training and development needs of direct reports and their team and undertake relevant programs
- Assess the performance of direct reports and provide them with developmental feedback and support
- Create an environment of happiness and positivity within the team by mentoring, coaching, and empowering them
- Remain up to date on the latest industry and market trends in order to regularly update skills and knowledge
