Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development and testing of Mechanical hardware based on the mechanical architecture and the mechanical requirements within a project.
JOB FUNCTIONS (ESSENTIAL)
Level 1 Development of core and/or application-specific mechanical requirements for automotive electronics.
Develop mechanical hardware in compliance with Global Product Engineering Process (GPEP).
Verify mechanical requirements at component and assembly level testing.
Support the rest of the functional disciplines with all aspects related to mechanical hardware.
Perform detailed work assignments provided by the mentor or team member, by applying established and well defined mechanical engineering techniques.
Work assignments primarily involve entry-level or intermediate work.
Mechanical Engineer (Design) Requirements analysis, Mechanical architecture development, component design and assembly management
In-depth analysis, simulation, development of design documentation (3D models, 2D drawings, ME/EE interface, DFMEA)
Optimization of design for cost, manufacturability and quality
Experience in thermal management
Thermal analysis of electronic assemblies
Thermal mitigation strategies (Conduction paths, convection surfaces) Experience in electronic enclosure sealing analysis and design
Dispensed sealants - Laser/Vibration weld sealing
Fixed gasket sealing
Enclosure seal testing Mechanical Engineer (Project Lead)
Main customer interface for all mechanical hardware-related activities including customer design reviews, clarify and negotiate customer requirements for the project
Lead then planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of all mechanical related activities for various projects
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations. Maintains regular attendance.
Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE);
Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event.
Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QoS)
JOB REQUIREMENTS Education/Experience
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Master s preferred) 0-4 years relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above) in serial development.
Automotive component development (mandatory).
