Shift Manager Job Responsibilities:
Responsible all operations during a shift and for performing any additional duties and tasks as assigned
by the Unit Manager
Shift Manager Job Duties:
• Consistently provides a quality product and Guest service experience that delivers total Guest
Satisfaction during the shift.
• Models and creates an environment in which the Guest is always right, Ensure a positive Guest
Service Experience
• Responds positively and quickly to Guest concerns. Corrects potential problems before they
affect guest.
• Ensures all employees are trained, motivated and empowered to deliver total Guest
Satisfaction. Evaluates each employees ability to maintain high level of Guest Satisfaction.
• Maintains outlet is meeting Quality, service and cleanliness standards at all times during the
shift.
• Ensures that outlet is optimally staffed during the shift.
• Seeks to solicit feedbacks from the guest and act accordingly.
• Keeps immediate supervisor informed of anything which might affect the Guests, other
employees and overall outlet operations.
• Ensure to conduct shift briefings in order to improve the skills, knowledge and morale of
employees.
• Treats employees with dignity and respect; and ensures to follow basic HR communication skills. • Ensures that shift objectives are met consistently; eg. UPT, APT, Wastages, Product Availability
etc.
• Continually develops adequate numbers of Buddy Trainers and ensures that buddy system is
followed during the shift religiously.
• Trains, coaches and provides regular performance feedback (positive and corrective) to
motivate and improve the performance of all employees
• Conducts on floor assigned SOC's in order to strengthen employee performance.
• Provides appropriate and effective counseling and/or disciplinary action as per company policy.
• Communicates and supports team goals and expectations to all employees as outlined by the
MRO/Unit Manager
• Coaches Employees towards achieving team goals; recognizes and rewards employees to the
achievers.
• Makes a continuous effort to maintain a fun and enjoyable working experience at outlet.
• Ensure floor plan for Team Members is prepared and plan 24 hrs. before the shift.
• Supports the execution of the business plan for the outlet
• Achieves results by planning, communicating, delegating and following up.
• Ensures that all the required resources are planned well in advance (People, Equipment and
Product).
• Serves as a role model and sets a positive example for the entire team in all aspect of the
business and Management
• Always adheres to all company policies, procedures and licensing laws.
• Upholds company food safety, food handling and sanitation requirements, to ensure the health
and safety of our Guests and employees.
Shift Manager Skills and Qualifications:
An energetic and results-oriented Shift Manager who can provide a high degree of leadership that will
inspire confidence in team members. Excellent attendance and punctuality record, and is someone who
will always arrive to work first. He/She can work in any fast-paced environment, and has superb
organizing, planning, and prioritising skills. As a true professional he/she has a long track record of
completing assignments on time, accurately, and to the specifications defined. On a personal level
he/she has a positive attitude and is willing to be accountable for all operations whilst managing a shift.
His/Her key strengths include; making tough decisions, resolving conflicts and maintaining staff safety at
all times.
Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent
