Ramboll are looking for a Principal Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer to join our offices located in Mumbai, India. The successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering services on mega projects to Ramboll and its Clients', including technical and project leadership within the mechanical engineering team.

You will join our Buildingsdepartment
As our new Principal Engineer – HVAC, Buildings you will be part of our global High-Rise department, Ramboll’s dedicated team of high-rise experts which have designed over 150 tall building projects globally, including some of the most technically challenging. You would be responsible for coordinate with project managers and/or engineers for design & engineering work in the High-Rise department in Mumbai and supporting the global department which also has offices in Copenhagen, Dubai and Singapore.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
Specific areas of key responsibility include the following:
- Project and technical leadership.

- Developing and guiding engineers and/or design team.
- Applying policies relating to health & safety, quality and training
- To act as Lead MEP on selected projects by managing the successful delivery of high quality multi and single disciplinary projects
- Project manage and supervise teams to successfully deliver high quality discipline projects in accordance with corporate and client requirements
- Develop a thorough design philosophy, effectively contributing to the inception, development and detailed delivery of projects across all stages
- Undertake regular reviews of all key projects within own area of responsibility and proactively engage with clients and partners to gather feedback and deliver service improvement initiatives
- Responsible for the correctness, accuracy and complete multi-disciplinary coordination of the design documentation in accordance with QA/QC review processes
- Coordinate and liaise with all other design team members, including architects and structural engineers plus client, project managers and QS.
- Have a good knowledge of buildability, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment and claim assessment.
- Attend to project / site technical matters
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
- Strong attention to detail, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Accountability for the financial and commercial management of projects.
- Provide technical support to respond to prequalification documents, RFPs and other client inquiries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Building Services / Mechanical Engineering
- Chartered member of an internationally recognised professional body (e.g. CIBSE, ASHRAE) preferable
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 12 -16 years’ experience, 6 years’ experience in Middle East.
- Proven track record in building services design with different types of sectors, including high rise, commercial, residential, retail, Healthcare, Industrial, refurbishment, etc.
- Proven record as a Project Engineer on several projects.
- Experienced at:Presenting to clients
- Attending demanding client meetings
- Preparing project proposals for agreement
- Arranging project resources
- Planning and running projects

- BE Mechanical Must possess with 12-16 years of professional experience in HVAC Design ideally having worked on major Middle East, UK projects. At least 6 years in Middle East Projects.
- Have a proven track record in building services design with different types of buildings including high rise, commercial, residential, retail etc.
- Excellent organizational skills, effective time management, including the ability to deal with conflicting demands in order to meet deadlines, prioritize heavy workload and have a willingnesso work flexibly.
- Proven ability to carry out both manual and computer aided calculations, problem solving, technical and financial analyses, etc.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite
- Detailed knowledge of BIM / digitalisation techniques and standards
- Strong software capability and proficiency in IES, HAP, Hevacomp, AutoCAD. REVIT and Navisworks,
- Excellent knowledge of local and international design standards, BSEN, CIBSE, ASHRAE, NFPA etc
- Excellent knowledge of local statutory authorities’ regulations and submission requirements across Middle East, mainly, UAE and KSA
- Advanced knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Principles, HVAC, CHW and FLS design
- Sustainable design practices and technologies
- Basic understand of electrical and public health principles
- Maintain and participate in CPD events to develop own expertise
- Preparation of specification, bill of quantities and price estimates.
- Assist during vendor bidding and negotiation meetings along with the client to represent the technical queries.
- Coordination within departments such as Electrical / PHE and others to ensure that the services are well coordinated.
