RULES GOVERNING MEDICAL ASPECTS:
- To develop and maintain effective communication with patients, their families, nursing, paramedical staff.
- To develop work routine and organizational skills which optimize day-to-day patient management.
- To do supervision of all new admissions, their investigations, and procedural consents from the appropriate consultant.
- To review and document investigation results in hospital records.
- Responsible for pre-operative and post-operative care of patients.
- It is mandatory that the Medical Officer must attend each and every call personally and document the status of the patient and treatment given.
- To examine the female patient in presence of a nurse and female attendant.
CALL DUTIES:
- To perform emergency call duties in rotation according to the call duty register maintained by each department.
- May also be put on Emergency Call.
- Medical Officer on-call may be required to attend to a patient in an emergency. However, this will not be a routine practice.
COGNITIVE CLINICAL MANAGEMENT:
- To perform and document history %26amp; physical examination.
- To take round daily with a consultant.
- To write daily progress notes.
- To obtain and document informed consent.
- To interpret laboratory %26amp; radiology results.*
- To prepare an appropriate discharge summary.
CLINICAL NON–INVASIVE MANAGEMENT:
- To perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- To order, adjust artificial feeding modalities.
CLINICAL INVASIVE MANAGEMENT:
- To insert the central venous catheter.*
- To perform oral endotrachial intubation.*
- To perform Nasogastric intubation.
- To insert the urethral catheter.
- To perform arterial puncture. *
- The procedure always requires discussion or presence of Jr. Consultant and above.
- Job Description can be modified according to Organization Policy at any time.
- Participated in continuing educational programs and training.
Any other responsibility as deemed fit from time to time by the Management.
