Job Description
The Senior Mechanical Engineer (Mechanisms) will be part of a design center of excellence team under the Global SusTaining Engineering Team (STET) org structure and will be will be responsible for developing complex mechanisms that require structural and force considerations, lifecycle requirements, to meet customer workflow needs of the company Medical Carts.
The senior Mechanical Engineering will also be responsible for setting up a design of excellence center for medical carts, and to develop strong and efficient engineering teams
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Product Marketing, Industrial Design and Clinical Science to design cart modules that involve articulation mechanisms, linear motions, and other user specific needs to meet workflow needs and voice of the customer.
- Work with engineering and cross functional team to develop cart sub modules, spanning from concept development to prototyping, testing and production release.
- Write Module level requirements document capture and quantity all user needs and oversee all design and development activities of the modules.
- As a lead Responsible Design Engineer work with suppler and Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure Critical to Quality elements are established and parts are qualified and released for manufacturing.
- Drive/execute strategic projects according to business goals across multiple functional units and Cross pollination of design knowledge resulting from working across multiple business including meeting internal stakeholder expectations as well as mechanical engineering objectives
- Drive product development activities including development of design concepts, prototype testing, engineering specs, and module/system level tests.
- Drive continuous improvement projects related to design implementation, manufacturing process, product quality and reliability.
