Job Description
The 3PL Operations Manager / Asst. Manager will be responsible for overall administration and supervision of respective region Transporters, Custom house agents teams & CFS/ICD clearance team appointed by the company. He will supervise their regular Transport & Cargo clearance operations as per company procedural guidelines. He will take care operational and Service Quality aspect of 3PL Logistics services business with shipping lines, appointed Transport & Custom brokers service provider/Teams and Companies internal Operations & Accounting team for following major business activities:
a. Ensure smooth 3PL Logistics services, documentation and reporting operations for the assigned region.
b. Develop and maintain best business practices and 3PL sales strategies. Recruit, train, develop, and manage the team to ensure individual and company success.
c. Coordinate and supervise Transport & Custom brokers teams for timely completion of assigned Cargo clearance and transport services and process/submit required documentation with respect to Import & Export services and communicate the same with respective shipping line or company customers.
d. Coordinate with in-house group companies and partnered companies for CFS, ICD, Warehousing services related leads, finalize the commercials, submission of proposals to Shipping lines/Customers. Once proposal is accepted by shipping line/customer, coordinate with group companies operations team for timely clearance and delivery of cargo as per agreed terms and billing to respective parties.
e. Continuously develop current pricing on all regions through direct contact with carriers, Clearance agents posting loads and utilizing 3rd party data sources.
f. Supervise all Transport & Cargo clearance services are performed at facilities with desired service level standards.
g. Ensure all outsourced service providers are timely reporting service status of the assigned services to Company, Shipping lines or customers concern teams and escalate in case of any delay.
h. Coordinate with appointed service providers for timely submission of bills to company.
i. Supervise Zircon CSU, Regional Transport & clearance In-charges and operation executive day to day basis and allocating work assignments.
j. Coordinate with accounts teams for raising bills to shipping lines or customers.
k. Assist account teams to follow-up for the clearance of outstanding bills.
l. Ensure desired level of regulatory compliances and quality of services are rendered by appointed transporters and cargo clearance service providers.
m. Handle Company, customers and Shipping line issues and resolve by coordinating with concerned parties.
n. Escalate issues which requires attention of Company Top management and cross functional teams.
o. Ensure Timely Reporting to Customers & Shipping Line as per there requirement.
p. Create and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the carrier department.
q. Recommend system & process enhancement measures.
I. Work schedule for Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To achieve desire level of performance following work schedule need to be practices on daily basis:
- Conduct Weekly/Fortnightly/Monthly meeting with Transporter & Cargo clearance service teams to review operations and service issues.
- Prepare weekly status report to Company, Customer and Shipping lines for respective region.
- Coordinate with vendors for raising bills and monitor billing tracker.
- Ensure set operational procedures as per the requirement of Customers, shipping lines are practiced by appointed operation teams.
- Assist Operation and other support departments to resolve issues and rectification of existing processes.
- Other duties may be assigned.

III. Qualifications
Education
- A Graduate Degree from a three year university program or equivalent experience is required.
