Roles and Responsibilities
- The role of the Area Sales Manager is to develop, influence and drive the implementation of the growth agenda for his area.
- Meet Sales and Distribution targets by effective implementation of area sales & development plans. Develop Sales forecast for all categories based on trends.
- Define allocation of sales targets to the different territories based on clear understanding of calendar of inputs/market growth/category growth
- Plan and achieve distribution expansion by class of towns, and category as per plan and take corrective action, wherever required.
- Ensure recruitment/ availability/ retention of required manpower as per plan and monitor their performance.
- Work very closely with Trade Marketing team in management of schemes / promotions / contests being run to promote company brand. Ensure trade execution of new products launches as per plan to achieve 80% weighted distribution within the agreed timelines
- Track new product launch progress and report to marketing team with qualitative observations.
- Primary and secondary target achievement of the responsible area.
- Mentor, motivate and guide team members ensuring sales - business generation and achieving budgeted figures, and activity ratio on monthly basis
Desired Candidate Profile
- Any graduate with Masters degree in Sales/Marketing preferred
- Strong experience (8 - 15 years) in the FMCG industry with a major focus on General Trade & Modern Trade. Preferably in Healthcare, Women Hygiene, Adult care and Baby care Products based companies
- Possess Strong analytical, problem solving & organizational abilities
- Possess exceptional relationship management skills & interpersonal skills
- Good team handling skills
- Multi-linguistic & an effective communicator
