Job Description
We are looking for a candidate who has specialised in machining processes to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. This is a hands-on role with a heavy emphasis in providing practical support and technical guidance to a team of approximately 20 machinists.
The ideal candidate will show demonstrable hands-on machining knowledge and programming capability using Fanuc and Mazatrol controllers on a range of equipment including single, multi-pallet, multi axis cnc machining centres including lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines. They will also have experience with the creation and efficient utilisation of fixtures to support machining operations.
SPECIFIC/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Health and Safety awareness will be amongst your main priorities, and Health and Safety guidelines should be actively adhered to and promoted.
Provide day to day practical and technical support to the machining department to ensure Quality, Cost and Effectiveness Targets are met.
Identify departmental training needs and implement and execute a training strategy to meet the needs for current and future demand.
Utilise problem solving and technical tools such as SPC, FMEA and Control plans to drive data driven improvements in current and new processes.
Continually assess new technologies for integration into operations to maintain competitive advantage.
Define Capital Equipment purchases and justification to support NPI.
Implement standard operating procedures across all areas of responsibility.
Develop in conjunction with the facilities management department a TPM system for the department in order to drive improvements in equipment availability, utilisation and improvement in quality performance.
In co-ordination with the Quality Team, create and update procedures as required by new products and process improvements.
