Job Description
DESCRIPTION: A Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through the preparation of a company's reports and statements. Staff Accountants prepare and analyze a company’s financial records. They compile financial statements, review data, and ensure financial compliance. Staff Accountants are responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable and receivable, tax returns, bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, forecasting, and budgeting. Staff Accountants also analyze corporate financial operations to ensure the business is running efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for the preparation of daily cash reports • Prepare and record accounts receivable invoicing for clients in addition to performing research and applying for cash payments as they relate to loan and trust accounting • Prepare bank reconciliations and other general ledger accounts, prepare and record month-end closing entries, analyze balance sheet account month-to month balance variances. • Preparation and review of journal entries which includes but not limited to revenue and expense accruals • Assist with internal and external financial reporting • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements • Assist with annual audits • Special projects and analysis as requested • Other duties as assigned
