We are looking to hire energetic and detail-oriented event managers to assist our clients in coordinating and executing successful weddings and related events. The event managers responsibilities include obtaining quotes from vendors, ensuring that budget changes are incorporated into clients wedding plans accordingly, and collecting payments from clients for the services provided. You should also be able to create a time-line of all wedding-day activities for each client to ensure that everything remains on schedule.
To be successful as an event manager, you should be methodical and adept at handling difficult or stressful situations. Ultimately, a top-notch event manger should be up to date with the latest wedding trends as well as demonstrate exceptional communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1) Managing Event Operations and logistics:
- Ensures that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracy.
- Greets customer during the event phase and hands-off to the Event Operations team for the execution of details.
- Arranging for necessary wedding supplies and equipment to be transported to the wedding venue in a timely manner.
2) Ensuring and Providing Exceptional Customer Service:
- Delivers excellent customer service throughout the customer experience and encourages the same from other employees.
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service and sets a positive example for guest relations.
- Coordinates and communicates event details both verbally and in writing to the customer and property operations and makes presence known to customer at all times during this process.
3) Marketing activities for ensuring profitability in business:
- To continuously seek ways to maximize revenues and profits including up selling other facilities and services.
- To monitor and analyse activities and trends in the banquet facility market and take proactive measures to stay ahead of competition.
- To promote the business on different social media platforms for publicity and advertising.
4) Leading Event Management:
- Conducting initial event & decor presentations to our clients to include the wedding decor packages available and the wedding decor & event budget.
- Negotiating contracts with selected vendors and customer for proper functioning of event.
- Monitoring all wedding-day activities to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or hotel management is advantageous.
- Proven experience in event planning and wedding organising.
- Basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office applications.
- Sound knowledge of marketing skills which can be used to improve profitability.
- Performs duties of chef and culinary related food items in high demand times.
- Strong networking and negotiating skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented, methodical, and creative.
