Roles and Responsibilities
I. Job Summary:
The Packaging Associate Quality Analyst (or technician) under the supervision of the Senior Quality Analyst will be responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy of all packaging artwork per supplied specification. They will perform quality control checks for all production artwork and confirm that files are built correctly, follow master templates and brand guidelines and are consistent between product families and across multiple packaging types and sizes.
II. Roles & Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist the Sr. Quality Analyst/Lead in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system
- Assist the Sr. Quality Analyst/Leads by making process improvement suggestions to improve project results, productivity and overall effectiveness.
- Follow the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for quality checking projects
- Check job to ensure basic mark positions are correct including centers, corner trims, screen scales, punch marks, job name, color designations, and job data / labels if applicable
- Responsible for ensuring that all required checklist(s) are completed accordingly and in full, with any errors found subsequently corrected
- Responsible for ensuring that artwork files across various pack sizes are production-ready and built based on brand guidelines and approved master templates while maintaining consistency across the complete range
- Flag any errors or deviations from standard work procedures to the Production Manager or Supervisor
- Work closely with the designers to communicate errors and provide guidance and strategies in improving output
- Works on and completes multiple orders and projects in the allotted time throughout the day.
III. Years of Experience
0-3 yrs of experience
- 1 year of prior art production and design experience
- 1 years of work in a pre-press/printing environment preferred
- 1 year as a quality analyst
IV. Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent working experience
V. Skill Set Required
Primary Skills (must have)
- Attention to detail - should demonstrate an individual’s quality performance of not less than 90% Right First Time (RFT)
- Ability to build strong, technically tight, problemfree, mechanicals ready for print
- Ability to read, understand and follow work instructions, specifications, workflow diagrams and SOPs
- Willingness to learn existing any new workows
- Organizational skills, adaptability and composure under re are equally important
- Possesses a strong portfolio of wellproduced work
- Must understand die lines and mechanical specics of a broad range of product packaging
- Strong computer skills including ability to learn new software quickly
- Proofreading skills required
