Job Description
Taking care of Operation & Maintenance of all Mechanical Fire Fighting, RO, Softener Plants, Raw Water, drinking water distribution systems, and associated Mechanical & HVAC equipment in the field and offices of IIMA Campus.
Duties:
The functions listed here are representative but not necessarily exhaustive or descriptive. Management is not precluded from assigning other related functions not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment for the position.
- Mechanical Equipment installation, Commissioning, handover projects, to Users, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment
- Inspect and test components of Mechanical systems, including Diesel Generators, Drinking water ring main system, RO/ Softening Plant, Fire Fighting System, STP borewell, HVAC System
- Sound knowledge about the Project & Operation & maintenance of the Mechanical System
- Having a good understanding of Mechanical safety, risk, and hazards associated with the assigned work, & will effectively supervise Mechanical works in compliance with Indian Statutory /Legal 1956 & CEA Regulations, 2010.
- Operating, Repair, and maintenance of window/ split/ Duct-able split/ VRV/ package/ central plant air-condition plant, water cooler, air cooler fridge, deep fridge, etc.
- Responsible for managing minor and major works/projects, and for supervising subordinate engineering staff performing several projects
- Maintenance & Operation of Pumps, borewells, water tanks, water supply network, Air conditioning plants, solar water heating systems, RO plants, VRV, Spilt, Window AC, and other mechanical equipment in the IIMA campus, etc.
- Greenfield/ Brownfield Project work experience must in HVAC, VRV, RO/ Water, and Drinking Water Distribution systems. / Diesel Storage Tank, Fire Fighting System.
- Ensure root cause analysis for failures and identify and implement corrective action plans like changes to the preventive maintenance schedule, modification of the design, and changes to maintenance practices.
- Liaison work with local/ Govt /Statutory departments like Fire Fighting Dept. AMC, GIDC, Pollution Control Board, Lift NOC.
- Familiar with the tender procedures, formulating tender specifications, quantity estimation, and checking of RA bills., Approval Note,
- Responsible for reviewing of all Mechanical designs, plans and specifications required.
- Reviews engineering criteria, directive and standard drawings, and specifications related to Mechanical systems.
- Reviews drawings, specifications, and computations developed by Designers for Mechanical systems equipment such as switchgear, Mechanical HVAC, Fire Fighting Systems, Water Management systems, RO, Borewells, pumps, elevators, escalators, and heating devices.
- Prepares and presents accurate engineering reports on Mechanical facilities and Mechanical systems on time.
- Developing Documentation and Drawings, PM Check Lists, Equipment History Sheets &Logbook, and Spare part management.
- Sound Knowledge about the Predictive & Preventive Breakdown System.
- Constantly track maintenance Budget Controlling, spending, and ensure appropriate cost controls. Ensure any overspend is incurred after appropriate approvals as per the chart of authority.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact with end-users, staff, officers & faculty members, and Students.
- Responsible for ensuring quality work from contractual employees, appointed vendors & Mechanical contractors as per the given tender specifications & IS standard
- Deep knowledge about the Certification of bills and measurement of quantities for executed Mechanical Project / Site work
- Other duties as specified by the Head of the Mechanical Department.
Knowledge & skills
- Knowledge of basic designs of Mechanical systems. Able to read the P&ID Diagram.
- Master in Troubleshooting, Preventive maintenance
- AutoCAD Knowledge must
- Basic knowledge of computers, MS Office & SAP
- Hands-on experience in maintenance of Mechanical Utilities O&M.
- Good in Documentation like History Card, Why-Why Analysis, Energy Consumption Pattern etc.
- Good in communication, Positive Attitude, Team building Skill, Polite in nature.
Desirable Traits:
- Demonstrates Ethical Behavior and an eye for detail on O&M and Project Work.
Qualification, Experience & Skill Requirements:
- The candidate should possess a full-time BE/Diploma in Mechanical approved by UGC/AICTE
- Minimum seven years of relevant experience in case of BE and ten years in case of Diploma (as on last date of application) in the Mechanical Distribution field, out of which at least ONE (01) year of relevant experience in a project in any residential colony or township.
Age: Maximum 35 years as on the last date of Application. The institute provides age relaxation as per GOI rules. Additional 5 years’ age relaxation is given to women candidates
Reporting to:
The selected person will report to Assistant General Manager - Electrical, IIMA.
Salary & Allowances: Selected candidate will be offered the appointment on Tenure Based Scaled Contract for a fixed term of three years, which may be extended for a further period as required. Salary will not be a constraint for the deserving candidate and will be commensurate with the candidate’s profile and experience.
