Testing
Under the umbrella of the core task of testing,website testers will have a variety of duties, such as designing test scenariosfor automation, implementing test scripts utilizing automated test tools, andperforming various types of testing including functional, system integration,regression, and exploratory.
PerformingRoot Cause Analysis
One of the responsibilities of a website testeris to ensure that end-users are happy. Therefore, they must determine the when,where, and why of each production defect or problem at its source. This mayinvolve determining a primary cause or a series of interrelated causes.
GeneratingReports and Recommendations
A website tester must have a system forrecording and documenting all testing results performed. Additionally, he orshe must generate reports that accurately detail defects found during testingand offer recommendations for improving existing processes and implementing newtools based on test results.
CollaboratingWith Others
A large part of a website testers job is tocollaborate with developers about any bugs, defects, or issues found. Both thewebsite tester and the developers will work to ensure that bugs are resolved sothat website quality will exceed defined standards. Additionally, testerscollaborate with developers in areas such as code and design reviews.
Website Tester Skills andQualifications
Technical skills website testers understand software architectural concepts andworkflows, know HTML or other programming languages and can create technicaldocumentation applicable to different software frameworks
Analytical skills tracking and identifying bugs and defects, as well as analyzingdata related to software testing are important parts of a website testersduties.
Problem-solving skills because testing is often a complex process,website testers need to be able to troubleshoot any problems and devise methodsto solve them
