Job Description: Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer:
Role Purpose:
The role forms part of the off-shore development team (within the Web/ MI team), responsible for end-to-end design, development, and delivery of key IT initiatives. Operating within a fast-moving environment this challenging ' hands-on' role requires a developer with an aptitude for innovation and creativity. The role spans both support and development with a predominantly UK-based user group.
Key Accountabilities:
- Development of web sites
- 3rd party/ business user support
- Production of all necessary documentation
- Support throughout test and implementation
- Liaison with IT Senior Management and other projects (both IT and Business)
- Representing the IT Department to other areas of the business and external third parties
- Handover of completed projects to relevant operational teams
- Provide guidance to junior staff on the development of complex nature applications.
Knowledge, skills, experience, and qualification:
Must-Have
- Overall 2+ years development experience
- Experience in developing high-performance enterprise-level web applications
- Development experience with Asp.net 3.5/4 with C# with /MVC, Web API, .net Core
- Experience in source control systems and branching (ideally TFS/SVN)
- MS SQL Server 2K/2K5/2K8 development experience.
- Proficient with SQL Server 2008, TSQL, LINQ, ADO.NET
- WCF/Web and Windows Services (XML/SOAP/WSDL)
- Working knowledge of the open and closed source, third party frameworks
- Very strong analysis skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with peers/ business users and Senior Management (UK based)
- Rapid code conversion to delivered solution
- Aptitude for innovation and thinking 'outside the box
- Expert proficiency with JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery
- Common software design patterns & practices
- Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture
- Troubleshooting and debugging web application performance

Job Description: Technical Lead:
Role Purpose:
To lead the Development team and should have strong engagement management skills, including the ability to drive analytical rigor in decision making, possess deep technical insights and with that have the ability to speak in both business and technical terms Resource should be understanding of including all project activities to agreed quality, time and budget specifications. The resource has to ensure adherence to the Development process defined at Hays Global System Technology team.
The role will also be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of the Global System Sprint process for the release of smaller enhancement and defect fix bundles across the environments.
Key Activities:
- Manage software development team delivering both tactical and strategic level software projects
- Provide technical leadership across department providing technical vision and support
- Great communication skills to collaborate with clients, Executive management, and engineers
- Very strong project management capabilities, Project plans, estimation, and managing multiple projects
- Agile development methodology practices are required
- Must be a "hands-on" Project Manager
- Successful track record leading and working with cross-functional project teams
- Ability to anticipate and manage project risks\
- Ability to manage project budgets and maintain a strong understanding of project methodology
- Person to have extensive experience managing multiple projects in an Agile environment using Scrum practices
- Devise and deliver technical architecture that supports the company's product vision
Knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience:
Must-Have"
- 8+ years in the IT industry, Software product company, Commercial software company experience is highly preferred
- Commercial experience managing all activities of a CRM application software development team with 10+ team members
- Development experience with Asp.net 3.5/4 with C# with /MVC, Web API, .net Core
- Excellent OOPS knowledge
- Experience in source control systems and branching (ideally TFS/SVN)
- MS SQL Server 2K/2K5/2K8 development experience.
- Proficient with SQL Server 2008, TSQL, LINQ, ADO.NET, Any ORM framework knowledge
- WCF/Web and Windows Services (XML/SOAP/WSDL)
- Track record in delivering complex, extensive technical change. Ideally experience of transitioning application sets.
- Able to communicate at the technical level with developers, gain respect, and change behaviors
- Comfortable operating autonomously, within set guidelines
- Experience in introducing/managing a range of modern development methodologies
- Managing change effectively
- Expert level of technical and professional skills/knowledge. Particular value is attached to the thorough understanding of either C# and .Net
- Programming or software development background with Microsoft languages is highly preferred but will consider other development languages like Java or C++
- Must be able to communicate effectively with direct and senior management
Advantageous:
- PMP is preferred but not absolutely necessary
- Global or international experience is a major plus
