DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
As a member of the Content Engineering Deep Sector team, you will be responsible for integrating a new breed of data into FactSet's world-class financial ecosystem. Deep Sector is the top initiative for FactSet's competitive strategy. This data set brings a unique set of challenges to Content Engineering. You will be a part of a fast-paced integration organization that targets enormous ASV opportunities for our FactSet.
You will leverage the Content Pipeline Tools to acquire, store, enrich, collect, integrate and publish third-party data. A qualified candidate embraces a forward-thinking strategy to solving problems and engages with the collective engineering community to influence the process for all initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain and resolve bugs in existing components
- Write effective, scalable code
- Perform code reviews and coach engineers with respect to best practice
- Think and communicate critically about architecture, design, and best practices
- Work with other engineers in following the test-driven methodology in an agile environment
- Collaborate with other engineers and Product Developers in a Scrum Agile environment
- Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team
- Ability to create and review documentation and test plans
- Estimate task sizes and regularly communicate progress in daily standups and biweekly Scrum meetings
- Coordinate with other teams across offices and departments
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelors degree required
- 5 to 8 years of industry experience
- Demonstrated technical ability with scripting in python/bash/perl or similar
- Knowledge on Python libraries, Pandas, Numpy. Flask
- Relational database experience (MySQL, SQL Server, or a similar RDBMS)
- Demonstrated technical ability in C++, C# or similar language
- Willingness to participate in rotating on-call duties for data services
- Working experience on AWS services, Lambda, EC2, S3, AWS Glue etc.
- Knowledge in the Devops pipeline.
- Experience with Github-based development processes
- Proficiency with object-oriented design principles
- Working experience on APIs is a must
- Organized, self-directed, and resourceful with the ability to appropriately prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Skills:
- Should be able to comprehend C# , .Net applications
- Work experience of jupyter Notebooks is a plus.
- Familiar with Agile software development (Scrun is a plus)
- Experience working in linux / unit environment is desirable.
