The Purpose of the role
As a key member of the Catastrophe Modelling scrubbing Team, an Associate is responsible for providing the scrubbed excel template which would be used as a CAT modelling input. Also the associate will interact directly with the underwriter and confirm the key variables that has to be captured in the CAT import template. Submission review and data scrubbing are the two most important tasks to be performed in the role. Associate should consolidate data from multiple resources and integrates information into necessary format after completing the quality checks.
Responsibilities
- Quickly learn and understand the concepts of property and casualty insurance.
- Review the schedule submitted by the underwriter and follow up for any clarifications via e-mail or telephone
- Identify and collect critical information from various documents (broker slips, notes, online resources) provided by the client
- Extract data from various document formats and transfer specified information into the format requested by the client
- Prepare input sheet by using appropriate codes and coding COPE information as per underwriters instruction.
- Perform secondary research by using online resources and complete the missing information critical for modelling.
- Provide results in the expected format for underwriters
- Work closely with the CAT modelling team and provide detailed summary of the assumptions made in completing the deliverable.
- Achieve TAT by completing deliverables on time and prioritize workload with the team that are crucial for business.
- Understand the existing process and provide suggestions for process improvement to speed up the deliverable with quality.
Required knowledge, Skills and qualifications
- Fresher/0-6 Months experience in Insurance/ Risk Management (OR) Statistics and Data Analysis
- Graduate in quantitative sciences
- Long term interest for career growth in underwriting and risk management
- Able to work flexible schedule to accommodate business requirements and work requests from different time zones.
- Proficiency in Excel skills & experience in Data Scrubbing
- Working knowledge of CAT Modelling software and data scrubbing.
- Proficiency in English language (verbal, written, comprehension).
