At AMD, our energies are focused on advancing high-performance computing to help solve the world’s toughest problems. As the world joins together in solving one of the greatest challenges ever faced, we are committed to accelerating the path to recovery and helping society emerge stronger. Around the globe, the AMD COVID-19 High Performance Compute Fund is providing computing resources to dedicated researchers deepening our understanding of diseases such as COVID-19, as well as our capacity to respond. In India, during 2021 AMD has provided $1.92 million USD in HPC resources to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) 4th Paradigm Institute to further this goal.
The story of the pandemic is one of shared resilience and extraordinary empathy. As many of us face tragic loss and unbearable heartache, the way communities have come together is inspiring. At AMD, we continue to focus on doing what we can to strengthen the communities we live in. Across Haryana, Karnataka and Telangana, we are working with business partners to help augment healthcare systems with specialized medical equipment to combat COVID-19, aid relief efforts for those less fortunate and support care facilities for children and the elderly. AMD employees have donated generously to numerous relief causes and we continue to work closely with our business partners and the Government in identifying ways we can do more.
India continues to be a key part of the AMD global story. More than 2,300 AMD workers across Bengaluru, Gurugram and Hyderabad are helping AMD play a leadership role across the entire industry. I’m proud to report that in 2020 AMD was awarded the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association’s award for “Enterprise Semiconductor Company of the Year” for our achievements in innovation. Now more than ever, we at AMD recognize the importance of placing environment and society at the very heart of what we do, how we come together, and who we are.
