The Private Brands Marketplace team is looking for a customer-obsessed Business Development Manager to help drive one of the most exciting growth engines for Private Brands at Amazon.in. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic sales environment, help to identify and launch sellers of medium to large complexity that are loved by our customers. (S)He will be responsible for negotiating with multi- functional stakeholders within seller organization, devise product & launch plans, resolve execution blockers, bring them onboard and drive the right initial inputs to ensure their success in the program. The ideal candidate will have sales experience, ability to work in an environment with minimal supervision, comfortable working across multiple complex functions and capability to influence external parties and manage to drive multiple metrics with the sellers for success. The candidate should be comfortable interfacing with technology systems, training other stakeholders on systems and processes and be able to analyze data and gather actionable conclusions. Operating in a rapidly changing environment will require the candidate to be adept at dealing with ambiguous, new and challenging situations. The candidate will be comfortable in executing repeatable processes.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire valuable sellers and selection for Amazon
- Articulate key benefits and build strong communication channel at all levels of sellers organization, set clear expectations, provide frequent status updates and work towards a successful launch
- Own and manage integration of portfolio of sellers and help them become self-reliant through training. Focus on brand development and exceeding sales goals of our clientele.
- Discovery of strategic business opportunities for our customers through cross function collaboration with category teams, sales teams etc.
- Track and monitor performance and quality of brand launches
-Basic qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in sales or business development or similar functions
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA is preferred.
- Deep understanding of e-commerce is required (preferably prior experience in e-commerce).
- Proven negotiation skills, influencing abilities
- Strong numerical and analytical aptitude
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
- Detail-oriented
- Technical aptitude and agility to learn web-based tools
- Smart, enthusiastic, hard-working, and creative
- Innovative, team oriented, and have a desire to participate in change and appreciate a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Demonstrated active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions-oriented
Preferred qualifications
- MBA is preferred
- Experience with e-commerce, retail, advertising, or media would be an advantage.
- Experience selling nascent (embryonic/start-up) products/services into new markets is desired.
- Experience with Sales or Account Management in e-commerce or high end retail/financial institutions is a plus
