To maintain good IR on the shop floor by proactively engaging with the workforce and supervisors and timely redressal of grievances for the Linen Plants 3 and 4 (1300 on-roll and 150 contract workmen) to achieve the desired business & as well as department Goals
Financial Modelling, Scenario Planning and creating the negotiation script for Settlement
Rationalization of hands to achieve global benchmark on productivity
Conducting HR-IR data analysis to find patterns, trends which will help in decision making.

Job Context
West Bengal was once known for the Textile Industry as there were 42 Textile Mills operating here out of which only 4 - 5 mills have survived and JST is the only mill which has proven financial track record. However over the years the work culture at JST had deteriorated sharply. There had been numerous instances of acts of indiscipline like abusive, riotous, disorderly & violent behaviour, concerted stoppage of work, drunkenness, insubordination, sleeping at workplace, habitual absenteeism etc. There are also 8 Industrial Trade Unions affiliated to different political parties.
Over the last 2 years a lot of steps are being taken to improve the culture and productivity of the Unit.
Major challenge
Ensure that the productivity is strictly as per the Chinese benchmark which is 38 hands/000 spindles in plant 3 and 4
High Absenteeism during the marriage season / summer season leading to huge production loss
Keeping high morale of the worker during adverse business scenario
Ensure timely redressal of grievances and discipline

Supporting Actions
Industrial Relations in Plant 4 and common functions
Ensure healthy employee relations by proactively developing better understanding between supervisors and workers
Timely redressal of employee grievances
Ensure Labor Law Compliance at Plant 4
Training of ITI and general workmen for Linen plant 4
Reduction in Manpower Costs as PERCENT of EBITDA through Manpower Rationalization
Working closely with the Manpower Rationalization process and ensure that the numbers are achieved as per Chinese benchmarks in Plant 4
Recruitment process of Workmen
Manpower Planning on monthly basis- Preparation of on-roll statement and assess requirement then recruit trainee/worker as per the system
Ensure supply of workers in full
Adjustment of workers in shifts by checking their off and availability.
Coordinate with production section.
Control over extra hands; report to the Management if worker are extra than target/budget
Disciplinary Actions: Work & general individual grievances.
To prepare & issue letters, warnings, charge- sheets to coordinate with Domestic enquiries.
To handle any dispute related work or work place by coordinating with Production Section In charges /Shift In charges
Liaison, Legal & Statutory compliances
Liaison with Govt. Labour dept., PF, ESIC Administration & related authorities.
To coordinate with legal advisor for labour cases.
To attend labour cases in court of law.
To prepare documents, collection of data for the cases.
All the Statutory compliances of Factory Act, ESIC, PF & other related compliance. Coordinate during the inspections by Labour Inspector, Labour Welfare Inspector and Factory Inspector.
Coordinate Time Office activities
To prepare hands report & other relevant work in absence of Incharge T.O. & guidance whenever needed to make grievance free Time Office working
Workers absenteeism
To collect data on weekly basis.
To analyze data to know the real causes of absenteeism.
To counsel the workers.
To issue warning/show cause to habitual absentee.
Workmen Recruitment
Ensure steady supply of manpower and hiring as per werner norms.
Qualifications:
MBA,Master Of PMIR,Master in Human Resource Mgmt,Human Resources
Minimum Experience Level:
10-15 Years
